  • Action Steps:

    1. Implement learning obtained from PLCs and professional learning to change teaching practices to increase DOK and rigor.
    2. All teachers will provide opportunities for remediations, enrichment and differentiation for students in class and out of class including after school tutoring. Teachers should include and post when available (days, before school, after school, etc.)
    3. Teachers will continue to integrate technology and other digital resources into student learning experiences in every unit.
    4. Continue implementation of pre and post test data to track student progress.
    5. Recognition of and rewards for students who score in distinguished level on Milestones test.
    6. Utilize the standards and frameworks provided by GaDOE for instructional planning.
    7. Utilize the systemwide lesson planning format or similar format including all components.
    8. After school tutoring in ELA on Mon. and Wed. and Math on Tues. and Thurs. afternoons and mornings and additional mornings as needed.
    9. ELA teachers implement use of CommonLit Assessment Series.
  • Action Steps:

    1. Teachers and leaders will develop a fluid plan to meet the PLC needs at GLHS.
    2. Implement cross-curricular PLC meetings.
    3. Teachers will rotate the lead role in hosting PLCs based on the predetermined topic by the school improvement team.
  • Action Steps:

    1. Continue to use social media for academics and school activities.
    2. Teachers will document all parent contact in contact log in Infinite Campus.
    3. Use notification system through the guidance department and through the school notification system for parents and students.
    4. Strengthen business partnerships by adding members to advisory boards, using business members as classroom resources.
    5. Continue to use of YouScience as a career guidance tool.
    6. School council will meet a minimum of two times per school year.
    7. Teachers will update grades in Infinite Campus at least one time per week with a minimum of two grades.
  • Action Steps:

    1. Regular lockdown drills using different scenarios.
    2. Safety/Emergency committee should have regular meetings.
    3. Safety committee will conduct safety checks and walk throughs.
    4. Annually review and update school emergency plan.
    5. Clearly identified roles in the emergency plan.
    6. Replace Sielox with Centigix.
    7. Continue to hold students accountable if they are not following the code of conduct.
    8. Continuation of high school transition class for all freshmen to increase study skills, test prep, and positive work ethics.
    9. Increase school-wide student recognition for academics including SAT/ACT scores and extra-curricular achievements.
    10. Increase recognition of all students with increased social media highlights and school recognition.
    11. Positive office referrals to reward students for exceptional behavior.
