Fishing Club

The GLHS Fishing Team is open to students in grades 6-12 and provides an opportunity to compete in tournaments through the Northwest Georgia High School Anglers Association. Students will have the chance to participate in several spring tournaments, where they’ll compete against schools from across Northwest Georgia. They can choose to fish individually or with a partner. To participate, students must provide their own boat, and the boat captain must be at least 21 years old. The boat must also be covered by at least $300,000 in liability insurance. There is a $200 sign-up fee, which is due in the fall and non-refundable. This covers the cost of a team jersey. There will be a few school meetings and monthly meetings organized by the association to provide important tournament details. As a competitive sport, students are held to the same academic, behavioral, and athletic standards as all other GLHS athletes. This program offers a rewarding experience, with opportunities to represent GLHS and develop skills that could lead to further opportunities in the sport.
